Range Rover has unveiled its inaugural fully electric SUV in the UK, with prices beginning at £154,070. Prospective buyers can now place orders, and the first customer deliveries are anticipated to commence in 2027. This development marks a significant milestone for Jaguar Land Rover as it pivots towards electric vehicle production.

Manufactured at the Jaguar Land Rover facility in Solihull, UK, the Range Rover Electric embodies the brand’s commitment to luxury and performance, while embracing a sustainable future. The SUV is equipped with dual electric motors, delivering up to 550PS and 850Nm of torque, allowing it to sprint from 0 to 60mph in just 4.3 seconds. The vehicle boasts an impressive driving range of up to 372 miles, as tested under the WLTP cycle.

The heart of the Range Rover Electric is a 118.5kWh battery, which supports 800-volt charging. This high-capacity battery enables rapid charging, with the potential to replenish from 10% to 80% in approximately 22 minutes under optimal conditions. The SUV retains Range Rover’s distinctive luxury aesthetics and off-road prowess, now enhanced with an electric powertrain and improved aerodynamic features. Notably, it maintains the ability to wade through water up to 900mm deep.

Years of meticulous development and testing have culminated in the creation of the Range Rover Electric. The production process is bolstered by Jaguar Land Rover’s Wolverhampton facility, which is responsible for manufacturing the battery packs and electric drive units essential for the vehicle’s operation. This strategic move underscores the company’s broader initiative to embrace electrification while maintaining its legacy of luxury and performance.
